Bay Area Paragliding Weather Update Apr 12

Winds have been gusting to over thirty miles per hour the past few days preventing anyone from paragliding in the Bay Area. Friday’s forecast doesn’t look much better, however the Saturday and Sunday Look a lot more promising!

BAPA Meeting 3/23/19

The first BAPA Meeting will be at Vitos Pizza in Sunnyvale on March 23rd, 2019.At the meeting, we will introduce the new BAPA officers, outline our calendar for the year, and explain what the club does and how we support local pilots. This is a good time for new pilots to learn about the club and what we do.Then we will turn the meeting over to Jug Aggarwal who will talk about the XC and Sprint Leagues and award trophies for last year’s winners. If you are interested in learning how to fly cross country, these Leagues are a great way to learn.If that wasn’t enough:

Responding to a Paragliding Emergency Workshop

Reserve Parachutes – HANDS ON!

Ever wonder what the lifesaver under your seat looks like? Learn about the various types of reserves and meet your fellow pilots! We’ll have a Rogallo, Round, and Square reserve opened up so you can see what they look like and how they work, and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of each.  A limited number of people can get individual instruction on strategies for doing a repack on a round (pulled down apex) and square reserve.
