Lemming Launch

Overview

Lemming  is the located at the bottom of the cliffs bellow Walker launch. Being one of the lowest launches, Lemming is usable in moderate to strong winds. It’s important for newer pilots to make sure the tide is low and there is plenty of beach when starting from lemming.

Lemming can be a difficult launch due to the fact that it’s slanted so that the front of launch is slightly higher than the back. This results in a stagnation zone close to the ground which typically extends a couple feet up from the surface. Lemming is also slanted slightly to the south making it easiest to launch when the wind has a little bit of a southerly component to it.
